A well-maintained bike is safer, more enjoyable to ride and lasts significantly longer. Most routine maintenance tasks are straightforward to learn and require very few tools.

1. Chain Cleaning: The Most Important Maintenance Task

A dirty, dry chain rapidly wears cassettes and chainrings. Clean every 200-300km normally, every 80-100km in wet or muddy conditions. Degrease, rinse, dry, lubricate with appropriate oil, remove excess.

2. Tyre Pressure: Check Before Every Ride

3. Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Signs to act: lever travelling too close to the bar (air in system), constant rubbing noise (worn pads), reduced braking power. Bleeding requires a specific kit — if unsure, visit a workshop.

4. Drivetrain: Basic Adjustment

If shifting is imprecise, try the barrel adjuster first. If the derailleur is bent after a crash, don't force it — take it to a mechanic to avoid damaging the frame hanger.

5. Seasonal Service

Every 2,000-3,000km: chain wear check, headset and bottom bracket bearings, spoke tension, cable lubrication. Rinos provides lifetime technical support on all bikes — contact us anytime.
